Welcoming a new patron: Ty Reveen

Welcome to our newest sponsor,  Ty Reveen!

Based out of New Brunswick, you may know Ty is following in his father's footsteps with a new “Superconscious Journey” into the marvels of the human mind with “Reveen” The Legend Continues!

Ty toured with his dad (Peter) for more than 30 years, performing with him for approximately 3000 shows.  He learned his lessons well, as "the 'new' Reveen Show has become the 'highest grossing' show of its kind performing in front of 'sold out' audiences coast to coast throughout Canada’s top entertainment circuit."

Catch “Reveen” The Legend Continues on tour this Fall.  Ty starts his tour with 15 shows at the PNE in Vancouver.

On September 28th you can catch him at the Capitol theatre in New Brunswick on September 28th.

On October 3rd he'll be in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Keep an eye out for more dates and places to be revealed!

Visit Ty's website at https://reveen.website/ subscribe to his YouTube channel or
follow him on Facebook.

Thank you Ty, for your sponsorship of Canada's Magic!

Magic at the 2019 PNE

This year's Pacific National Exhibition runs from August 17 to September 2.  Be sure to check out Ty Reveen in "Reveen: The Superconscious Experience" and Dick Joiner hosting "Abracadabark"!  (Of note, we saw David Acer host Abracadabark last Friday at the CNE and it's a really fun show.)

From the August 17th article "Tux-wearing Tyrone Reveen picks up at PNE where famous father left off" by Gordon McIntyre in the Vancouver Sun:
“This is an opportunity to implement some great special effects, some of which have never been seen before, that will blow people’s minds,” Ty Reveen said before beginning 15 nights of entertaining at the Pacific Coliseum during the PNE Fair.

“I do a few things in this show that will surprise even the people at the top levels of the magic industry.”

He’s followed in the footsteps of his famous father, who died in 2013, a couple of years after his son Ty took over the act.

Ty and his three brothers spent their early years in Chilliwack, West Vancouver and Richmond, their dad (yes he had a first name, Peter) having arrived in 1961 — “With literally five cents in his pocket,” Reveen le fils said.

The boys and their mother Coral later followed from their native Australia after the hypnotist had established himself.

Brandon and Prince George: Ty Reveen

See Ty at the WMCA in Brandon on March 25 and in Vanier Hall in Prince George on April 1st.

From the Prince George Citizen:
Pushing the mental buttons of Canada is now a best-selling tradition for one Canadian family.

Like his father before him, the name Reveen is now being worn by a hypno-entertainer who is touring the nation, wowing audiences from coast to coast with a combination of comedy and feats of the human mind.

Organizers call the Reveen experience "the most popular show in the history of Canadian theatre," for its longevity and public appeal over the two generations it's gone on. An estimated audience of more than six million viewers have taken in the first generation of performances, and now those numbers are set to grow.

Ty Reveen in the Calgary Herald

From the Calgary Herald:
Ty Reveen was five years old when he first learned his destiny.

It came directly from his father, at the time becoming a star in Canadian theatre as Reveen the Impossibilist. He told his son that he too would one day wear the rhinestone tuxedo and wow crowds with his hypnotism and high-speed memory demonstrations. At the time, Ty remembers he was helping his dad make posters with a pair of scissors, a fairly menial task but one that made the five-year-old boy feel part of the show. While his dad was the ultimate showman, there was no grandeur or gravitas to his pronouncement. It was just a tender moment between father and son.

Ty Reveen in The Telegram

From The Telegram:
In February, The Telegram told the story of the young Reveen taking over his late father’s show.

But before fulfilling what he calls his destiny in putting on his father’s tuxedo, around the mid-’80s Ty had some different ideas. They had a lot to do with blowing up the stage in the name of rock ’n’ roll.

“At that time Michael Jackson and Earth, Wind and Fire and other artists like that were starting to hire people from the magic industry to design ideas for them,” he says.

From last month in the Telegram:
Newfoundland played a big part in the fate of The Man They Call Reveen and his son, Ty.

“When I was five years old, my father said, ‘One day, you will take over this show.’ So I always knew it. It was my destiny to do it,” Ty says.

Ty Reveen: Following in his father’s footsteps

From Amherst News:
Ty Reveen remembers his last visit to Amherst in the late 1970s.

He was performing with his late father, the popular stage hypnotist and illusionist, known simply as Reveen.

“I remember Amherst quite well,” Reveen said. “We played in an old school gymnasium and an old hotel, I think it was called the Colonial. It was a great town to visit and the place was packed.”

Reveen returns to Amherst Oct. 22 as part of his latest tour through the Maritimes, following in the footsteps of his father, Peter Reveen, who made numerous trips through the region during a career that spanned five decades.
