Here's the traditional consolidation of the posts and Tweets. (For the complete list of Tweets and photos check out this Twitter link to Tweets tagged with #BrowsersBash2019 or #BrowsersBash.)

It's a very long post.  Click "read more" below to view it.

Toronto: From Fair to Foul

From the Browser's Den of Magic:
Sunday, March 24, 2019

This is a 90 minute historical lecture about magicians during the 1800’s. It explains how they transformed from distrusted street performers at fairs to performers of skill. And ended the century by debunking the foul spiritualists. The lecture covers many incredible people such as James and John Rannie, Richard Potter...the first magicians in America.

Jean Eugene Robert-Houdin the French magician who turned magic into a theatrical art form, John Nevil Maskeylne, Spiritualists like the Fox sisters from New York, and much more.

Some of their methods and tricks they used will be discussed.

Canadian connections are emphasized and many interesting items will be displayed. This lecture is NOT a magic show but includes a few historical magic tricks throughout the lecture.

Toronto: Greg Wilson lecture - "Things I carry and use..."

From the Browser's Den of Magic:
Wednesday, February 20, 2019

Please Pay at the Door $20 (Standing Room Only)

From the man who brought us such gems as Pointless, Bandwidth, Revolution, Cold Case, Unleashed, Hundy 500 and so much more, Greg Wilson is bringing his brand-new lecture to the Browser's Den! He's a two-time FISM winner, he had an entire chapter dedicated to his magic in Paul Harris' ART OF ASTONISHMENT books, and now he's coming to share his decades of knowledge with you!

Just like the title, Greg's lecture will use things that fit in his pockets and things found around him, teaching you to be ever-ready for performing spur-of-the-moment astonishments.

Building on his best-selling videos “Off the Cuff” and “On the Spot”, Greg teaches you how to convert everyday objects into devastating weapons of deception. The emphasis here is on ENTERTAINMENT. From close-up to stand-up, there’s something for everyone.

Now just because it’s called a lecture doesn’t mean it has to be dry and academic. You will experience a rip-roaring, laugh-out-loud, audience-involving show! Greg will not only fool you, he'll have you laughing and clapping along the way!

This is one lecture you DO NOT WANT TO MISS!

Please Pay at the Door $20 (Standing Room Only)

Sunday, January 20, 2019

Dear Denizens,

We are so excited to start off the 2019 year with a lecture by Michel Huot.

It is not often that we have a lecturer who earns almost all of his living as a corporate magician.  Michel Huot is just that magician.  He has been a corporate magician for 24 years. Over the past 24 years he has given more then 4,000 performances!

Years and years of performing magic in the real world have fine tuned his performances to make sure that he gets repeat business...repeat business...from businesses.

He is also a top notch creator of magic including 'Priceless', 'Dirty Pool' and the soon to be released 'Socks'.  Many of his routines have also appeared in the magazines 'Genii', 'Magic', 'The Magic Menu'. Some of his creations have also appeared in the books of David Acer, John Lovick.

He has performed and lectured in Algeria, Mexico, Canada, France, Magic Circle in London, Penguin Magic.

In his lecture you will learn cool tricks with your shoe, your cellphone, plush toys, socks, cards, jacket and more. Everything Michel teaches you is magic and methods for the real world; magic, that can be done in non ideal surroundings.

Atlas Obscura's list of Enchanting Local Magic Shops

Back in October, Atlas Obscura asked for our favourite local magic shops.  This week, they published a round up of the responses...

From the November 6th article "33 of the World’s Most Enchanting Local Magic Shops" by Eric Grundhauser at Atlas Obscura:

Browser’s Den of Magic
Toronto, Ontario

“As a woman in a male-dominated field, the Den has provided me with a space to learn and share magic without feeling like an outsider. The people who run the store are always willing to help, demonstrate tricks, and recommend additional resources for hobbyists and pros alike. I’ve never experienced another store quite like the Browser’s Den.” — Jacqueline Swan, Toronto, Ontario

“Jeff and the staff provide excellent service to magicians at all stages of development, and they go out of their way to be welcoming and encouraging. They are there to help, not just to make a sale. Conventions, special events, auctions, lectures, and club meetings at the shop all contribute to making Browser’s Den a very special place for Canadian magicians.” — Robin Dawes, Kingston, Ontario

“The store does so much more then sell magic. It strives to build a community. Brings in top magicians for lectures. Hosts a magic club, helps magicians sell magic tricks they no longer need. Any questions answered. Jeff Pinsky loves magic and it shows.” — Jim Byrns, Toronto, Ontario
