#ThrowbackThursday: Wizards on Wheels Getting Wasted (working title)

Watch the pilot episode of "Two Magicians Walk Into a Bar" with Michael Dardant and Eric Leclerc.

From the October 21st Facebook post by the International Brotherhood of Magicians:

Two Magicians Walk Into a Bar - on this episode of Something Up My Sleeve

A production of Neutral Ground Films, hosted by comedian and magician Michael Dardant, filmed on location in New Orleans. Picture "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" style, but talking shop with world class magicians and instead of a cafĂ©, we hit the coolest spots in The Big Easy and sample the world's best crafted cocktails! It's "Wizards on Wheels Getting Wasted"... wait, um.... ok, I'm just learning that we are changing the name to "Two Magicians Walk Into a Bar"! ...now it just sounds like a joke. Anyway, the pilot episode featuring the crazy antics of Canadian, Eric Leclerc was created just in time to start pitching the show right before Covid. So, then the world ended and here we are... with this fun episode that yearns to be many more fun episodes!

Watch the video on Facebook.  (Starts around the 5 min mark.)

Calgary: Wit & Wizardry with guest Dustin MacMillan [Oct 24]

Tickets at Magic Tickets

From the October 20th Facebook post by Ryan Pilling

Earlier this month the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians awarded Dustin MacMillan a GOLD MEDAL for his Parlour Magic performance. "Parlour" is a type of magic that is up close, within reach of the audience, leaving nowhere to hide. I won't share any spoilers, but will say that this act will leave your mind totally mixed up!

Toronto and Montreal: Rick Holcombe on Coin Magic (Fusion Lecture) [Nov 19 - 21]

For more information visit Toronto's IBMRing17.com (details coming soon) or the Montreal Magic Jam website about the Montreal lecture and workshop.

From the Montreal Magic Jam Facebook event "Rick Holcombe on Coin Magic":

Tickets are now on sale for our first lecture of the 2025-2026 season with coin-man extraordinaire Rick Holcombe. On Nov 20, Rick will be giving his Fusion Lecture and sneaking in a few bonuses along the way.

On Friday Nov. 21, Rick will also be giving small coin workshop where he'll teach a variety of hand-picked routines, techniques and sequences that require just three coins and will give an in-depth teaching session on his Sly Palm, a practical new tool that you will happy to be add to your repertoire. Email us if you're interested as spaces are limited.

I first heard of Rick Holcombe through my dearly departed friend Curtis Kam. On a Zoom session during lockdown, Curtis said there was a guy that was doing some very interesting stuff, AND the material was easy. For those that knew Curtis, I'm still not sure if that last comment was a compliment or him throwing shade. 🙂

So we watched some video, and Rick impressed me with how smooth and soft his work was. The Mr. Rogers of coin magic, his disarming nature only adds to the power of his magic. I've never met Rick in person but I'm excited to have him in Montreal for his first ever mini-Canadian lecture tour (he's just doing two dates: Toronto and here).

If you're a fan of coin magic, or are a little scared of it but want to add a little bit of it to your repertoire, Rick's your guy. His magic is strong and accessible (i.e. NOT knuckle-busting). So I hope to see most of you at the lecture, and at least a few of you at the workshop.
