Johnston, who performs as the Amazing Mr. J., made a road trip to Ontario for the chance to meet puppeteer Caroll Spinney, who has played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street from its inception in 1969.
Spinney was a guest at Hamilton Comic Con for what was billed as his final appearance in Canada, and Johnston said he got to spend some quality time with the performer.

Toronto: Rudy Coby lecture
From Eventbrite:
14 November
Rudy Coby, also known as "Labman," is one of the most creative and bizarre comedic magician working today.
In the early 1990s, Coby appeared in several small theatrical live shows, and on broadcast television, where he delivered two unforgettable specials, “Rudy Coby: Coolest Magician on Earth,” and “Rudy Coby: Ridiculously Dangerous.” He is known for delivering eclectic and original comedic performances, of which stage magic plays a large part. He also works closely with rock musician and film director Marilyn Manson.
In the mid-1990s, Coby and his troupe of illusionist comrades performed in the Gem Theatre in downtown Detroit for an unprecedented thirteen weeks, thanks to his impressive cult following, and overwhelmingly positive local media support.

Registration is open for the 2019 3 of Clubs convention!
From Eventbrite:
From Shawn Farquhar's Facebook page:
The 3 of Clubs Convention gets a new coat of paint in 2019 - restoring the original aim of the Vancouver Magic Circle’s long-standing “Weekend of Magic” to unite the magic community with education and excellence of internationally-renowned talent without breaking the bank!
The Vancouver Magic Circle is thrilled by the return of our very own Billy Hsueh and Alex Zander to spearhead this year’s convention once again. Ring 92’s last 3 of Clubs in 2016 at the “Pink Palace” in Surrey reinvigorated what a local convention could be, and they’re doing it again! But this time it’s even bigger, even better, and even cheaper!
We don’t know how.. but they’ve done it!
With an all-time low early-bird registration rate of only $75 for all 3 days (same early bird rate available to all 3 Clubs) our 2019 convention will be the most affordable in YEARS!
