Plot details are unclear, though a press release touts the stage show as an “explosive mix of high-tech illusions, solo stunts and jaw-dropping spectacles.” Starring as the Four Horsemen on Broadway are  Gabriella Lester as the escapologist, James More and Darcy Oake as illusionists and Matthew Pomeroy as a mentalist.

Broken wand: William John VanGorder (Bill)

Our sincere condolences to Bill's family and friends at this difficult time.   

 

From Remembering.ca: 

Bill was also a lifelong magician, bringing joy and confusion to audiences as a member of local magic club Conjuror's Court Ring 316 (International Brotherhood of Magicians) and the International Psychic Entertainers Association. He put himself through university in the 1970s at Waterloo Lutheran (now known as Wilfrid Laurier) working as a magician and running summer camps for the YMCA in Hamilton and Kitchener.

From the September 7th article "The Business of Lucy Darling: How Carisa Hendrix Went From Performing At Haunted Houses To Touring Globally As Her Old Hollywood-Inspired Character – Comedy Means Business Podcast" by Matt Grobar at Deadline: 

When data suggested that Lucy could go from playing to audiences in the hundreds to theaters with a capacity in the thousands, Hendrix put her own money behind the theory to get promoters behind her, absorbing tens of thousands of dollars in expenses to book venues in the Pacific Northwest through four-wall rental arrangements. It was a nerve-wracking decision, but Hendrix needn’t have worried, as she was able to begin moving large quantities of tickets almost immediately when they went on sale.

Hendrix breaks down the story in full today on Comedy Means Business, unveiling the business mechanics behind her rapid rise. Explaining the community values behind the Lucy Darling experience, which she says has become something like a themed party, she also talks finding “green flags” in collaborators and business partners, the wild experience that is the Las Vegas residency, and much more.
