Amherst: Ryan Joyce lecture [Sep 12]

Ryan has performed for years on cruise ships, and has many stories he can relate to us from the days on the high seas. He has also been on Penn and Tellers Fool Us, and can relate his experiences from that television appearance. Ryan was also one of the committee members that was helping to make FISM the success that it was in Quebec City.

Ben Proudfoot honoured by Premier Tim Houston

On August 24, Premier Tim Houston and fellow Nova Scotians honoured Oscar winner Ben Proudfoot at Neptune Theatre.  

Ben Proudfoot, from Halifax, is the 2022 Academy Award Winner for Best Documentary Short Subject for his film The Queen of Basketball.  The public event included a red carpet, a screening of the documentary, and a Q&A moderator session with Screen Nova Scotia.

Zach Wells in the St. Catharines Standard

From the August 29th article "Photos: Unicyclist riding for children’s cancer" in The Standard:

Unicyclist Zach Wells makes his way along Lakeshore Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake, just outside of St. Catharines, on his way to Niagara Falls.

The ride was part of his 130-kilometre route from Toronto that he started Monday morning.

Visiting several parts of Ontario, Wells expects to finish his goal of 1,500 km in August to help fight kid’s cancer in partnership with SickKids Foundation.
