- The Neil Bardal Funeral Home was updated to include much more information about Dr. Kaufert.
From the obituary:
"Joe was a passionate magician from age 7 or 8. He was a long-time member of The Magic Circle, International Brotherhood of Magicians (Order of Merlin), and the Magic Club of Winnipeg. He would delight and bemuse with sleight of hand, and a big wink, at every opportunity. His magic was often done at kids’ and community events; the magician’s patter often a witty reflection on a current social justice issue tailored just for the audience."

The magic world mourns the loss today, of Winnipeg's Dr. Joe Kaufert. I'm still in shock and saddened by his loss. With his quick wit and a glint in his eye, I'm sure that he's still performing his Chinese Sticks, Flexible Mirror, and Inexhaustible Salt Pour on that Great Stage in the sky.
Joe your kind and generous heart will be so missed. Thank you for everything you have done
